What we make of our opportunities?
We live in the 21st century. No other generation before us has enjoyed greater prosperity than we ..., no other generation before us has the earth changed more radically than we do! Food, water and energy, in the form of electricity and heat seem to be in infinite abundance available. But very few people think about their origin and preciousness. What consequences will have our prosperity someday?
We know terms like global warming and scarcity of resources, eg Petroleum. But we refuse to rethink. Why? Let our prosperity at risk? Where will this lead? The man has managed in less than 100 years to use up about 80% of the oil reservoir, convert it into other forms of energy and add back in a warmed atmosphere. How shall look for the next 100 years? Can we really afford so on to business as usual? What will future generations - our children - once say about us?
Now, in this moment, the future begins - we design it ... we make it so that we no longer wrest nature, as she is ready to give us. Let's make the beginning, the first steps - we begin to think differently. It is worth it.
